How Out of Service Call Forwarding interacts with other Bell Total Connect features
- This feature allows you to have incoming calls automatically forwarded to a different phone number when your device is unreachable or out of service.
- Out of Service Call Forwarding interacts with other Bell Total Connect features or functions in the following ways:
- Call Forward All Calls — Call Forward All Calls takes priority over Out of Service Call Forwarding. If Call Forward All Calls is active, it will redirect the call regardless of the Out of Service Call Forwarding settings.
- Call Forward Busy — Out of Service Call Forwarding does not redirect the call on a busy condition. If the user is busy, Call Forward Busy will redirect the call.
- Call Forward No Answer — Call Forward No Answer takes priority over Out of Service Call Forwarding. However, Out of Service Call Forwarding will redirect the call if it detects an unreachable condition before the Call Forward No Answer timer expires (i.e., if the timer is set to two or more rings).
- Call Pick-up — A call that has been redirected by Out of Service Call Forwarding cannot be picked up by another user.
- Do Not Disturb — Do Not Disturb takes priority over Out of Service Call Forwarding. Out of Service Call Forwarding will not redirect the call if Do Not Disturb is active.
- Hotelling — Out of Service Call Forwarding supports Hotelling. For the guest user, Out of Service Call Forwarding will redirect an incoming call if the host device is unreachable. For the host user, an unreachable host device will not trigger Out of Service Call Forwarding because this device is not alerted.
- Remote Office — Out of Service Call Forwarding applies to terminating Remote Office calls. If the network gateway terminating the Remote Office call fails to respond, Out of Service Call Forwarding will redirect the call.
- Shared Call Appearance — If Shared Call Appearance detects that all locations are unreachable, Out of Service Call Forwarding will redirect the call. If one (or more) location responds, that location is alerted and Out of Service Call Forwarding does not redirect the call, even if the other locations are unreachable.
- Find Me & Follow Me — Out of Service Call Forwarding applies only to the user's base location. If other Find Me & Follow Me destinations are unreachable, Out of Service Call Forwarding will not redirect the call. If the base station is unreachable, Find Me & Follow Me will complete execution (i.e. ring any subsequent locations). Only if none of the locations answer will Out of Service Call Forwarding redirect the call. Out of Service Call Forwarding will also be invoked if all of the following conditions are met, even if no device is reachable:
- Find Me & Follow Me completes execution and none of the locations answer, or the user presses # to skip the search process
- Call Forward No Answer is disabled
- Voicemail (for unanswered calls) is not enabled
- Voicemail — Voicemail takes priority over Out of Service Call Forwarding. However, Out of Service Call Forwarding will redirect the call if it detects an unreachable condition before the voicemail no answer timer expires (i.e., if the timer is set to two or more rings) — assuming the user has not configured all calls to be automatically directed to voicemail. If all calls are forwarded to voicemail, then Out of Service Call Forwarding will not redirect the call.
